Service Projects in Panama City

5/3/2016:
"We did a multi-ward service activity to clean a beach. In this pic I am standing in front of some mangrove trees. As usual..I'm finding things. I believe I have found some natural glass. Lightning transforms sand to glass."

"I forgot to mention in the other email but we did a zone group activity where we walked around in this massive park and found people to give Books of Mormon. Our zone leaders made these boxes to walk around in and explain to people why we need the Book of Mormon and bible. Of course..me and my my comp wanted to try them on. "

Ruins in Panama City

5/3/2016:
"This week my comp and I received permission in order to change our p-day to go visit the ruins in our area. The place isn't open on Mondays. Today the ruins here in Panama were pretty awesome. Found out that this area has been inhabited for a long time by indigenous Indians. They lived in the area before the Spaniards came in and took control of everything. The ruins of the city were built in the 1500's and 1600's. However, after a pirate attack (Pirate Morgan) the city was left destroyed and the people  moved to an area further inland. We walked through the area where the ruins are. Saw the remains of churches, homes, bridges, all sorts of stuff. We even got to go up in one of the towers and see all of it from up above.

"Me at the top of tower."

"One ruin is me in front of an old church."

"The other is a picture of me near one of the skeletons of the ancient Indians that was unearthed here in Panama viejo."

"Some pics of some stuff from [the] museum."

Panama Canal

4/18/2016:
"Today I got the opportunity to go see the canal. It was awesome!! we got to see a massive cruise ship pass through the canal. The engineering and design of the canal is awesome. You can see how the separate water chambers fill and allow the massive ships to move through."

Jaden and his companion also visited the canal museum.
